swimming technique through professional underwater video
analysis and individualized technical evaluation.

Meet Dan Lynch
Founder and Director of Swim Stroke Doctor
Dan Lynch brings together hands-on swimming experience,
technical curiosity, and more than four decades of
professional experience in business, marketing, and
product development. A graduate of the University of
Illinois Urbana-Champaign, he has built his career around
evaluating details, solving problems, and developing
practical solutions.
Dan spent several years coaching both the boys’ and girls’
swimming teams at Fenwick High School. His coaching
experience, combined with his longstanding involvement
as an official with USA Swimming and NCAA Swimming,
has given him a deep appreciation for the technical
demands of competitive swimming.
In 2012, Dan founded Swim Stroke Doctor to give swimmers
and coaches a closer look at stroke mechanics through
specialized underwater video technology. His goal was
to make important technical details easier to see,
understand, and use in the pursuit of better swimming.
Today, Swim Stroke Doctor combines that original vision
with individualized analysis designed to help swimmers
recognize their technical strengths and identify
opportunities for improvement.
Our Approach
Every swimmer is different. Swim Stroke Doctor combines
underwater video analysis, active kinesiology, and an
individualized stroke-grading system to provide a more
informed perspective on swimming technique.
Our goal is to help swimmers see what happens beneath
the surface, understand their movements more clearly,
and give coaches an additional resource for technical
instruction and athlete development.
Inclusion and Accessibility
Dan is committed to disability inclusion, accessibility,
and equal opportunity. He was among the initial setup
founders of Disability Rights Now, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
dedicated to equality and accessibility.
This commitment reflects the importance of recognizing
each individual athlete’s abilities, experiences,
and goals.
Beyond the Pool
Dan also serves as creative director at Daniel Lynch Celtic,
designing products inspired by Irish, Celtic, and Scottish
heritage. His creative work reflects an appreciation for
precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
